Anyone who has attempted to manage noise levels with a group of children will appreciate the simplicity, enjoyment, and engagement of this app.

"Too Noisy Starter" visually displays the level of background noise in a room.

This "STARTER" version of the popular "Too Noisy Pro" app provides teachers with a taste of the capabilities offered by the "Pro" version. Users can upgrade to the Pro version (which includes features such as "Star Awards", Audible Alarms, Multiple Themes, granular controls, and other enjoyable features) from within the App.

For responsible adults, it is like having a virtual assistant that continuously monitors noise levels and informs children in an enjoyable and engaging manner if the noise levels become unacceptable.

In tests, we have found that using this app with groups of children often results in peer pressure alone being enough to control noise levels.

So how does it work?

1. If the noise level is deemed acceptable by the responsible adult, a cheerful and contented character is displayed.
2. If the noise level exceeds what is considered acceptable, the character covers their ears and the background graphic reflects the unacceptable noise level.
3. Once the noise level returns to an acceptable level, the background graphic reverts and the character returns to their cheerful state.

Depending on the activity in which children are engaged, there may be instances where a higher background noise level is permissible. In such cases, the responsible adult can adjust the sensitivity of the app so that a higher level of noise is required for the graphic to change.

The app also includes a "Damper Setting" that reduces the needle's movement. This helps minimize the impact of sudden noises like doors slamming or someone sneezing.

In cases where projectors, TVs, or monitors are used, such as in classrooms, the app can be mirrored to these devices so that noise levels of larger groups of children can be controlled. Note: This feature is only available with iPad 2, iPhone 4S, and later devices, and may require additional apps or hardware.
